How to Fix Blurry Fonts in Google Chrome on HiDPI Monitors on Wayland

Linux Wayland

I am using KDE Neon with KDE Plasma 6 desktop environment on a 4k+ 4:3 aspect ratio 28″ monitor. After I installed Google Chrome, the text/fonts looked really blurry. Firefox ran just fine with the default settings. So, I tried to find a way to solve this issue and the good news is I got it fixed. I am going to share the solution with you so that you don’t have to pull off your hairs over this issue.

First, open the Google Chrome browser and do the following things:

1. Type in chrome://flags in the address bar and press <Enter>.

2. Search for the keyword ozone.

3. Set Preferred Ozone platform to Wayland.

4. Close Google Chrome and open it again.

The blurry fonts issue should be fixed.
